What We Believe

God

God is the sovereign ruler and creator of the universe. He eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to earth, lived a sinless life, and offered himself as a sacrifice for our sins by dying on a cross. He was buried and rose from the dead three days later, demonstrating His power over sin and death.

Holy Spirit

The person of the Holy Spirit works in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He enters our life at salvation and empowers us with spiritual gifts through the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s living word to us. It was written by men who were under the inspiration of the Holy spirit. It is completely true and is intended to spiritually transform us and guide us through life.

Humanity

We were created in God’s image to bring him glory and praise.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation

Salvation

Because of our sin, humanity is destined to an eternity without God. Our salvation is possible only by faith in Jesus Christ, apart from works, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Church

When you become a christian you become part of a larger collective of believers called the church. The church is the vehicle that God uses to display His love and spread His truth to the world. Every believer needs to belong to a bible believing church.

Missions

It is our mandate as believers in Jesus Christ to share His love with our neighbors and the world. We do this by giving, serving, praying, going, and supporting others who go.

Spiritual Gifts

We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are active today and available to any believer who seeks the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Spiritual Gifts include miracles, healing, prophecy, wisdom, knowledge, faith, tongues, interpretation, and discernment, all of which demonstrate the power of God.

Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

Second Coming

Jesus says “Nobody knows the hour or the day” but we are certain of his return and eagerly await the coming king.

Sacraments

Water Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord’s Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross.

Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God.
